Isogeometric Analysis for topology optimization with a phase field model
We consider a phase field model for the formulation and solution of topology optimization problems in the minimum compliance case. In this model, the optimal topology is obtained as the steady state of the phase transition described by the generalized Cahn–Hilliard equation which naturally embeds the volume constraint on the amount of material available for distribution in the design domain. We...

Phase Field Approach to Topology Optimization of Contact Problems
The paper deals with a phase field model for formulation and solution of the topology optimization problems of bodies in unilateral contact consisting in the normal contact stress minimization. The cost functional includes also surface and bulk energy terms. These terms allow to control global perimeter constraint and the occurence of the intermediate solution values. The optimal topology is ob...
متن کاملPhase-Field Relaxation of Topology Optimization with Local Stress Constraints
We introduce a new relaxation scheme for structural topology optimization problems with local stress constraints based on a phase-field method. The starting point of the relaxation is a reformulation of the material problem involving linear and 0–1 constraints only. The 0–1 constraints are then relaxed and approximated by a Cahn-Hilliard type penalty in the objective functional, which yields co...
متن کاملMulti-material phase field approach to structural topology optimization
Multi-material structural topology and shape optimization problems are formulated within a phase field approach. First-order conditions are stated and the relation of the necessary conditions to classical shape derivatives are discussed. An efficient numerical method based on an H–gradient projection method is introduced and finally several numerical results demonstrate the applicability of the...
